This person would represent Woodland's Council District 3 for a four-year term. Woodland, the Yolo County seat, is a city of about 61,032 residents (2020 Census) with a five-member, district-based City Council -- voters replaced an at-large system with district elections via Measure U in 2014. There is no separately elected Mayor: the Council chooses one of its own five district members to serve as Mayor each year.

Woodland City Council District 3 incumbent Tania Garcia-Cadena, first elected in 2022, is running unopposed for a second term -- she's the only candidate who qualified for the ballot.

The seat carries the same duties and term as District 1's open race: a four-year term on Woodland's five-member, district-based City Council, which sets the budget, land use, and municipal ordinances for the Yolo County seat, a city of about 61,032 residents (2020 Census). The Council chooses its own Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem annually from among its five district members rather than electing either separately; District 3's seat carries no special role beyond that of any other district member.

Garcia-Cadena's unopposed result is a genuine printed ballot contest, not a cancellation: the City Council's own Resolution No. 8669 calls the election unconditionally for both Districts 1 and 3 with no California Elections Code Section 10229 language anywhere in it, and Yolo County's own candidate-filings page independently marks the race "ON THE BALLOT" with a "Qualified for Ballot?" status of "Qualified" for her filing.

Tania Garcia-Cadena

Tania Garcia-Cadena has represented District 3 since December 2022 and is running for a second four-year term unopposed. Beyond her district, incumbency, and term dates, no independent profession, prior-office history, or personal background could be found this pass despite a genuine search -- two separate Daily Democrat site searches, a Bing web search for her name, the City's own Council roster, and her own City staff-directory bio page (which lists only her title and department). Yolo County's own candidate-filings table records her ballot designation simply as "Incumbent."

Strengths

An unopposed second-term run itself is a form of evidence -- no challenger emerged during the filing period, including its extension window.

This is a documented, honest information gap, not a judgment about her actual record: her voting history and committee work on the sitting Council aren't captured in this dataset's editorial content.
