Incumbent Kristal Salcido, Watsonville's current Mayor, is running unopposed for a second term representing City Council District 4 -- she is the only candidate who qualified for the seat.

District 4 elects one member to a full 4-year term on Watsonville's seven-member City Council -- one Council Member per district, with no at-large seats. Watsonville's Mayor is not separately elected; the Council appoints one of its own members to the largely ceremonial role each December, and Salcido currently holds that title as the District 4 representative. Watsonville is a Santa Cruz County city of about 52,590 residents (2020 Census), governed council-manager style with an appointed City Manager handling day-to-day operations.

District 4 is therefore a genuine, printed, on-ballot unopposed race.

Kristal Salcido

Kristal Salcido is the incumbent District 4 Council Member and Watsonville's sitting Mayor for the current council term, appointed to that rotating role by her fellow Council Members. She filed no Candidate Statement of Qualifications for this race -- the county's document server returns no file for her under the same URL pattern used by the other five candidates, and neither the county's nor the city's own official candidate pages link a statement for her. This dataset found no independent news profile of her this pass beyond her name and title on the city's own official pages.
