Representative Kevin Mullin took 65.0% of the June 2 vote. Republican Charles Hoelter took 18.4% and claimed the second slot. The district covers San Mateo County and part of San Francisco.

Mullin promises to keep pushing gun safety measures and to get weapons away from violent offenders. They also promise to protect immigrants going through the legal process and to keep working on housing, health care and veterans' issues. They say they will keep standing up against Trump administration policies they call harmful.
Charles Hoelter
Charles Hoelter is a Republican and a retired training supervisor. Hoelter advanced to the November ballot in June. They have not served in the California Legislature or Congress, and no campaign website could be found for Hoelter.
