Joe Garza

The Mid Valley Times' own reporting independently corroborates and substantially deepens that designation: Garza served as a Reedley police officer starting in 1988, was named chief in 2012, and retired after 36 years with the department -- the last 13 as chief -- on Dec. 18, 2024, credited by City Manager Nicole Zieba with helping Reedley be named one of California's 10 safest cities of its size and with the department's award-winning restorative-justice program.
