This person would hold one of Redwood City's seven district-elected City Council seats: city ordinances, the budget, and land use for San Mateo County's county seat, a city of about 84,300 residents (2020 census), under a council-manager government with an appointed City Manager. A 4-year term. The council -- not voters directly -- chooses one of its own members to serve as Mayor in a seniority-based rotation; Redwood City moved to by-district council elections in a 2022 redistricting.

The seat carries a 4-year term on Redwood City's 7-member City Council, San Mateo County's county seat, under a council-manager government with an appointed City Manager. Chris Sturken

First elected in 2022 after a decade working in the Peninsula's affordable-housing nonprofit sector, where his site describes managing affordable homes and running a home-sharing program; he also served on the city's Transportation Advisory Committee before joining the council. A renter in the Centennial neighborhood who grew up on the Peninsula, per his own campaign site. His filed ballot designation, 'City Council Member,' is itself confirmation of his incumbency, since California election law only permits a ballot designation naming a current elected office if it's accurate. His platform emphasizes a safe, vibrant downtown, housing affordability and new construction, ending homelessness, reducing traffic congestion, protecting the budget from cuts to essential services, and climate/transit investment.

A completed first term with specific votes he points to -- ~1,000 new homes approved, the Broadway pedestrian mall, gun shops barred near schools -- plus endorsements from Rep. Mullin.
