Incumbent Chris Pikus, 63, has lived in District 1 for 23 years. A retired electrical engineer with more than 30 years in the industry (most recently at Broadcom, retiring in March 2026), he holds a law degree from the University of Iowa (1997) that he never used to practice law or sit the bar exam. Before his council appointment he served three years on the city's Budget Review Committee. He says he's running for a full term "to help keep the city on an even keel," pointing to Poway's stable budget, low crime, and strong public safety as reasons to continue current policy.
