Ontario Mayor

Ontario's Mayor is directly elected citywide. The Mayor presides over City Council meetings and casts a full vote. The Mayor votes alongside four district Council Members. They vote on city laws, the budget, and land use. An appointed City Manager runs daily city operations, not the Mayor. The term is four years.

Mayor Paul S. Leon has held the office since a June 2005 special election. He seeks another term against three challengers. Daisy Macias is the sitting District 4 councilmember. Kevin Kizzee and Nicolo Lalama are first time candidates. The most votes wins outright, and there is no primary or runoff.

Leon was first appointed to the City Council in 1998, elected in his own right in 1999, re-elected in 2000 and 2004, then won the Mayor's office in a June 2005 special election and has been re-elected every four years since (2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022). Macias, by contrast, has been on the council for less than two years: she was appointed to the District 4 seat in December 2024 and is now seeking a different, citywide office rather than re-election to her own district seat, which isn't up again until 2028. Kizzee and Lalama are both first-time candidates with no city or county public record found beyond their filed ballot designations.

Paul Leon

Leon has been Mayor since a June 2005 special election. He won again in 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022. He is also Senior Pastor of Hope Chapel Church. He represents Ontario on regional bodies. They include the Southern California Association of Governments and Omnitrans.

Daisy Macias

Daisy Macias is Ontario's District 4 Council Member. She was appointed to that seat in December 2024. She is running for Mayor instead of a full council term. Macias has lived in Ontario all her life. She holds an associate's degree in business management. She works in community relations and outreach for the Hope through Housing Foundation. She was President of the Library Board and a Parks and Recreation Commissioner. Her campaign website had no platform content.

Kevin Kizzee

Kevin Kizzee is a challenger for Ontario Mayor. Their ballot title is Small Business Owner. No other facts about their background or platform were found.

Nicolo Lalama
