On the ballot

This person would hold your district's seat on Hesperia's 5-member, fully district-elected City Council: city ordinances, the budget, and land use, under a council-manager government where an appointed City Manager runs day-to-day operations. A 4-year term, staggered so only some districts are up in any given November -- Districts 1 and 5 next go before voters in 2028; Districts 2, 3, and 4 are up this cycle. Hesperia has no separately elected, citywide Mayor: the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem titles are instead held by two of the five district councilmembers themselves, chosen from among their own ranks.

Incumbent Cameron Gregg faces two challengers -- Nando Monarrez and Jacqueline Maheata "Chaplian" Tahauri -- for Hesperia's District 3 council seat on the November 3, 2026 ballot. Whichever candidate gets the most votes wins outright; there is no primary or runoff.

Tahauri's filed designation is "Traffic Control Officer" -- she is also the only one of the nine 2026 Hesperia council candidates who did not file a candidate statement for the county's official ballot pamphlet, per the county's own certified filing report.

Cameron Gregg

Cameron Gregg is Hesperia's incumbent District 3 councilmember, seeking reelection. His filed ballot designation is "CEO/Business Owner." A campaign committee under his name has been registered with the state since at least 2018, indicating a council run that cycle as well, though no independent record of his specific record in office was found in this pass.

Jacqueline Maheata "Chaplian" Tahauri is a candidate for Hesperia's District 3 council seat. Her filed ballot designation is "Traffic Control Officer." She is the only one of the nine 2026 Hesperia city council candidates who did not file a candidate statement for the county's official ballot pamphlet, per the county's own certified filing report, and no campaign committee or financial filing for her was found anywhere in the city's NetFile system under any name searched.
