Two candidates are running for Greenfield's District 3 City Council seat: incumbent Rachel Ortiz and challenger David Hernandez Godoy, a maintenance supervisor. Whoever gets the most votes on November 3 wins outright -- no primary, no runoff.

Rachel Ortiz

Rachel Ortiz is the district's incumbent, serving on the City Council since 2022. In her filed candidate statement, quoted by Monterey County Weekly, she says: "While we have made important progress there is still more work to do. My priority is establishing a Family Resource Center for all members of our community and the appearance of our city so that Greenfield continues to attract new businesses and create economic opportunities."
