Luz Reyes-Martín

Luz Reyes-Martín is the incumbent, first elected to District 1 in November 2022. Before her election, she served as president of the Goleta School Board and as vice president of community engagement for Planned Parenthood of California Central Coast, and had earlier worked as a spokesperson for Santa Barbara City College. She holds master's degrees in planning, economic development, and public administration from USC and an undergraduate degree from Stanford in political science and Chicano/a studies. Her 2022 campaign centered on preserving neighborhoods, open space, and resident services, drawing on her public-agency and land-use planning background.
