Jim Ernest

Jim Ernest is Dixon's Vice Mayor and the District 1 incumbent, seeking reelection. Their ballot title is simply Incumbent. They filed no occupation with their papers on July 23, 2026. Ernest serves alongside Mayor Steve Bird and three other councilmembers.

Emily Schroeder

Emily Schroeder is a legislative assistant challenging Jim Ernest for the District 1 seat. Schroeder filed their nomination papers on Aug. 5, 2026. No campaign website or social media presence was found for them.
