Wes Speake is the incumbent District 5 councilmember and Corona's Vice Mayor, first elected to the council in November 2018 and reelected in 2022, when he also served a term as Mayor. He is President and COO of a Riverside-based environmental consulting firm, holds degrees from Riverside Community College, the University of Redlands, and a UC Riverside land-use-planning certificate, and is a 1986 graduate of Corona High School. He chairs the League of California Cities' Housing, Community, and Economic Development Policy Committee and holds seats on regional transportation, wastewater, and conservation authorities; his stated focus areas are infrastructure, housing, economic development, and regional transportation planning (per the city's official bio).
