Vice Mayor Ed Reece is the only candidate for Claremont's District 2 council seat. No one else qualified. This contest is settled. The City Council may appoint him instead of holding an election. Claremont's council elections run in November with no primary.

Ed Reece is the Vice Mayor and a two-term District 2 councilmember. He was first elected in 2018 and was Mayor in 2022-23. He is founder and CEO of ISN Global Enterprises, a technology firm. He has chaired the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority. As of June 2025 he chairs the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments. No opponent filed by the August 10, 2026 deadline.
