This person would represent District 3 on Campbell's five-member City Council: city ordinances, the budget, and land use in this Santa Clara County city of about 44,000 residents, nicknamed "The Orchard City." A 4-year term. Council members are elected by district to staggered four-year terms; the Mayor title is chosen by the council from among its own members each year, not elected separately by voters. Districts 1 and 2 aren't up again until 2028.

Incumbent Daniel Furtado faces challenger Joseph Brenner on the November 3, 2026 ballot for Campbell's District 3 City Council seat. Whoever gets the most votes wins outright -- there is no primary or runoff.

Daniel Furtado

Daniel Furtado is Campbell's sitting District 3 councilmember, elected to this seat in November 2022 after an earlier council stint from 1996 to 2010, and the city's current Mayor -- a title his council colleagues chose him for in December 2025, not one voters elect directly. He holds a Doctor of Pharmacy from UC San Francisco and a Master of Public Administration from the University of San Francisco, spent more than 23 years at Stanford University's School of Medicine as a senior lecturer and associate director of its Primary Care Associate Program, and is a retired U.S. Army Reserve Colonel after 40 years of service. He qualified for the 2026 ballot on August 6, 2026.
