The city treasurer safeguards and invests Burbank's public funds and ensures the city has cash on hand to pay for city services — a technical, non-policymaking role. A 4-year term.

With no opponent, the useful question is what she has done with the office, not who to choose. Palmer has held the seat since an initial 2019 council appointment, then won it outright in 2020 with, per the city's own account, the highest vote total for a City candidate in Burbank's history.

Krystle Palmer

The incumbent City Treasurer, appointed in 2019 and elected in 2020 and 2022, unopposed for a third elected term. Under her tenure the city's investment portfolio has grown from about $430 million in 2019 to about $730 million today, and her office launched Burbank's first universal children's savings program. "Running unopposed is a humbling vote of confidence from our community," she said Aug. 19. "Together we have grown Burbank's investment portfolio from $430 million to $750 million, securing critical resources for vital city services. As a Burbank parent with three children in our public schools, protecting taxpayer dollars is deeply personal to me."
