Assemblymember Stephanie Nguyen took 71.7% of the June 2 vote to Republican Vinaya Singh's 28.3%, and the two were the only candidates on the primary ballot. This is a rematch: the same pairing ran in November 2024, when Nguyen won 67.6% to 32.4%. The district covers Elk Grove and south Sacramento, where Hoodline reports registered Democrats outnumber Republicans by more than two to one.

That same choice leaves him without the money to reach a district of roughly 275,000 voters, and he has no record in office to be judged on.
