## On the ballot

- **Natalie Meeks** — Incumbent

A nonpartisan office: candidates do not run as Democrats or Republicans, and no party appears on the ballot.

Only one candidate qualified for City Council District 6. Incumbent Natalie Meeks appears unopposed for a second term. This contest is settled. Your vote here does not change the outcome.

This person holds District 6's seat on Anaheim's 6-member district-elected City Council, alongside the citywide-elected mayor. They vote on city ordinances, the budget, and land-use decisions in east Anaheim, including Anaheim Hills. The term is four years.

With no opponent, the useful question is not who to choose but what the officeholder has done and what to watch next. An unopposed return means accountability for this seat over the next four years runs through public meetings and constituent contact rather than through the ballot.

## Natalie Meeks

The incumbent, elected to District 6 in November 2022. She is a longtime Anaheim Hills resident who raised her daughter as a single mother. She is the first in her family to earn a college degree. She holds a bachelor's in civil engineering from Cal State Fullerton. She also holds a master's in organizational leadership from Chapman University. Before her election she chaired Anaheim's Planning Commission from 2021 to 2022. She had joined it in 2019. Before that she served as the city's Public Works director from 2007 to 2016. She oversaw a department with a $300-million-plus budget and 250 employees. That work included the Anaheim Resort expansion, the Convention Center expansion, and the ARTIC transit hub. Her tenure was recognized with a 2015 American Public Works Association Top Ten Leader award. She led adoption of Strategic Plan Anaheim in 2024. She names public safety, reducing crime, and homelessness as her priorities. She also names fire evacuation in Anaheim Hills and expanding parks, trails, and libraries.

**Strengths:** She ran the city's own Public Works department for nine years before joining the council. That gives her direct technical infrastructure experience most council candidates lack.

**Trade-offs:** Running unopposed means her record faces no organized counter-argument this cycle.

**Keep in mind:** Her stated priorities come from the city's biography. Her campaign-finance filings could not be verified. See Financial info.
