Natalie Meeks

The incumbent, elected to District 6 in November 2022. A longtime Anaheim Hills resident who raised her daughter as a single mother, she is the first in her family to earn a college degree, holding a bachelor's in civil engineering from Cal State Fullerton and a master's in organizational leadership from Chapman University. Before her election she chaired Anaheim's Planning Commission (2021-2022) after joining it in 2019, and before that served as the city's Public Works director from 2007 to 2016, overseeing a department with a $300-million-plus budget and 250 employees -- including work on the Anaheim Resort expansion, Convention Center expansion, and the ARTIC transit hub -- a tenure recognized with a 2015 American Public Works Association Top Ten Leader award. She led adoption of Strategic Plan Anaheim in 2024 and names public safety, reducing crime, homelessness, fire evacuation in Anaheim Hills, and expanding parks, trails, and libraries as her priorities.

Strengths

A nine-year career running the city's own Public Works department before joining the council gives her direct, technical infrastructure experience most council candidates lack.
