This is one contest. Enter your address to see every race on your November ballot, and keep track of your picks.

On the ballot

This person holds your district's seat on Anaheim's 6-member district-elected City Council: city ordinances, the budget, and land use, alongside the citywide-elected mayor. A 4-year term.

Only one candidate qualified for City Council District 2. Incumbent Carlos A. Leon appears unopposed for a second term -- so this contest is settled and your vote here does not change the outcome.

This person holds District 2's seat on Anaheim's 6-member district-elected City Council, alongside the citywide-elected mayor: city ordinances, the budget, and land-use decisions in west Anaheim. A 4-year term.

With no opponent, the useful question is not who to choose but what the officeholder has done and what to watch next. An unopposed return means accountability for this seat over the next four years runs through public meetings and constituent contact rather than through the ballot.

Carlos A. Leon

The incumbent, elected to District 2 in November 2022 and serving as Mayor Pro Tem for 2026. A lifelong west Anaheim resident and the son of Mexican immigrants, he attended Mattie Lou Maxwell Elementary, Dale Junior High, and Magnolia High School locally. He holds a bachelor's degree in public policy and political science from UC San Diego, with a minor in business from the Rady School of Management, and previously worked in business development for Contoural Inc., an information-governance consulting firm. He represents Anaheim on the Orange County Transportation Authority and the OC Mosquito and Vector Control District, and serves as a board member of the nonprofit Youth Leadership America. He names homelessness, affordable housing, youth programs and entrepreneurship, small business, public safety, and neighborhood revitalization -- streets, sidewalks, and parking -- as his priorities for District 2.

Strengths

Regional-agency experience (OCTA, OC Mosquito and Vector Control) alongside his council seat, plus a personal biography rooted in the district he represents.

Trade-offs

Running unopposed means his record faces no organized counter-argument this cycle.
