This person would hold one of two open seats on Adelanto's City Council: city ordinances, the budget, and land use, alongside the separately elected Mayor. All four Council seats are elected citywide rather than by district, on a staggered 4-year term -- the other two seats (currently Daniel Ramos and Stevevonna Evans) were last up in November 2024 and aren't on this ballot.

Incumbents Amanda Uptergrove and Angelo Meza face challenger Jayshawn Johnson for Adelanto's two open, at-large City Council seats on the November 3, 2026 ballot. Whoever gets the two highest vote totals wins outright -- there is no primary or runoff.

Uptergrove and Meza are both seeking another term after first winning their seats in 2022. He previously served on that same commission until being removed in February 2020, a week after voting against a proposal to expand the GEO Group-run Adelanto ICE Processing Center's capacity -- reported independently and on the same day by both the Desert Sun and the Victorville Daily Press.
